The LCS Team were proud to attend and sponsor the game.

Having started with momentum and continuing to pick up pace, the game began with the experienced Darren Bent shooting a header straight into the hands of Frank Fielding. Fielding later produced two connected close-range saves as the first half drew to a close; an experienced and talented manoeuvre that will surely be remembered and Milan Djuric made his first City appearance in three months. Brewers pressed well in the start of the game and penned City inside their own half. This undoubtedly posed a threat when Damien McRory crossed, but was whipped in from the left towards Bent again.

City's first bona fide attack was blocked by Paterson's looping cross, which was then headed away by Brewer's skipper, Kyle McFadzean. Paterson, undeterred, soon became the away side's biggest threat; darting goalwards and using Kelly as an overlapping decoy, his shot was sure to reach the goal; but sailed off target after cutting inside. A devastating miss for the team! Luke Murphy's effort did not go unnoticed by the ref or crowd, but unfortunately also neither by the opposition. Liam Boyce headed over a bar not long after Murphy's vanishing effort, which landed just wide of goal. Marlon Park then blocked Brewer's keeper, Stephen Byster. Charging down his clearance, Byster's ball ricocheted off the middle finger and failed to drop quick enough; flying back towards the open goal.

It was Albion who ended the first half on top. Hope Apkan was released, but City's keeper was fast and blocked it with his chest. McFazden then took a shot in an attempt to deflect this, but his shot landed directly into the hands of Fielding. With Lucas Akins suffering an off-the-ball injury, Brewers brought on Lloyd Dyer as an early substitute. He picked out Marvin Sordell just moments after his release, but City's Captain, Wright managed to cut off his efforts with perfectly positioned block.

The second half showed equal amounts of potential, with Eros Pisano, Nathan Baker and Lloyd Kelly all being handed starts. Hodur Magnusson later went onto become the second-half substitute and despite the striker going to ground as he challenged for the high ball, the refs. dismissed the penalty appeals.

Diedhou was then replaced in a double change for City but, with Bywater positioned at his near post to make a save, had no time to guide a header on target. Lois Diony and Milan Djuric added a new dimension to the game as they were brought on by Johnson a little while later and the Senegal attacker joined forces with Paterson in City's final two substitutions. However, despite such changes, the team still had their air share of defending to do and it only went downhill from there. Djuric struggled he became caught up in a handful of headed clearances; Fielding could only watch on as Tom Flanagan's effort was thrown off course and landed wide form the edge of the penalty area; and Brownhill, despite picking up the ball in stoppage time, missed his last chance to bring the game back as his powerful shot landed straight in the hands of Bywater.

Just when we thought we saw a glimmer of hope for Albion, with Flanagan's left-foot effort late on in the game, their hopes were dashed as the shot just failed to curl enough to beat Fielding. Josh Brownhill filled his team with equal hope as he found space on the edge of the box. But hope faded as his shot went into the hands of Bywater.

With the match eventually drawing, the LCS team were on the edge of their seats. We all thoroughly enjoyed the match and meeting some of the team afterwards.
